How To Use Bamboo Steamer Easily

What is bamboo Steamer?
Bamboo steamers consist of interlocking baskets that stack on top of each other, with a lid on top. They are produced by removing the skin from the bamboo, soaking it in water, shaping it into a circle, and hammering it in with nails. The base is made up of woven bamboo strips, and production can take anywhere from 15 minutes to several hours depending on its size.
How to use bamboo steamer?
First: -Put bamboo steamer into wide pan (frying pan is ok) or a pot (Saucepan).
-Pour water into the pan. The water must come up high enough to submerge the bottom rim of the steamer in water and prevent it from scorching, but also be low enough so that the bubbling water does not touch the bottom of the inside bed of the steamer and the food sitting on it.
Note: you should check the size of bamboo steamer and then choose suitable pan for it.
Second: You will need something to line it with to prevent the food from sticking to the bamboo. You can also get round, perforated parchment paper liners made specifically for bamboo steamers, or even better, reusable cloth or silicone liners.
After that you place food in Bamboo Steamer
If you’re steaming food in a heat-proof bowl, plate, or other container (like the lotus leaves used in this recipe for steamed ribs with sticky rice), you can skip this step.
Third: Check Water
Keep an eye on it and add boiling water as needed.
Remember NOT adding cold water, it will interrupt the cooking process.
How to clean Bamboo Steamer?
Using sponge and mild dish soap, and immediately rinse thoroughly.
Dry Steamer before storing to prevent any mildew.
DON’T put steamer in diswasher and don’t soak it in water into sink for more than 5 minutes.
